Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. [7][8] She was raised in Barcelona and has been called an "atypical pop star" due to her variety of musical styles. [9] At the age of 13, she fell in fascination with Spanish folk music and studied musicology at Catalonia College of Music. She also performed at weddings as well as music bars. Blending flamenco and hip hop and pop music The album resulted in "Malamente" (single) as well as "Pienso en tu Mira (single). Both songs have been hugely successful and received widespread critical acclaim. El Mal Querer was the first to introduce Rosalia into the international music scene. Rosalia's 2019 albums "Con Altura" (13) and "Yo x Ti Tu x Mi" (12-13) were pioneers in urban music and achieved worldwide success. She gave reggaeton an experimental style on her third studio album Motomami (2022) which departed from the modern flamenco sound of the previous album. The album received international attention due to its singles "La Fama" and "Saoko" and became the most reviewed album of the year on Metacritic. Rosalia has had ten number one singles in her home country in the span of her entire career. This is the highest number she's ever had for an artist from her own country. Two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including two Album of the Year awards), four MTV Video Music Awards and three UK Music Video Awards have been awarded to Rosalia. Also, she was awarded two Premio Ruido Awards. In the year 2019 Billboard gave her the Rising Star Award for "changing the style of popular music with her fresh flamenco-influenced pop",[18and was the first singer from Spain ever to be nominated for the Best New Artist award at the Grammys Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Rosalia is the youngest of four children to Pilar Tobella, an entrepreneur who runs a small metalworking company. Her father, Jose Manuel Vila, was born in Cudillero, Asturias. They divorced in the year 2019. (23). She has an older sibling, Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989) who collaborates alongside Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia became interested in the performing arts as a young person and was particularly interested when she came across the discography by Camaron de La Isla. Her musical education began in Taller de Musics. She took part in a 6-year program in the academy. She started at the Raval school, then moved to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. Also, she was a solo singer, singing at weddings, and at musical bars. For this she received "a less than 80 euros" or as a reward for dinner.
